Emtronika BMW BVI150 reverse camera is created for those drivers who expect more than just a park assist functionality from a BMW aftermarket backup camera. It is designed to make your car flexible and compatible with a host of technological upgrades.
When the car is put in reverse, this BMW reverse parking camera takes over the display from the regular iDrive mode. This enables the Emtronika reverse camera image to take up the full screen, giving a bigger and clearer picture of what’s behind you.
This retrofit is ideal for drivers looking for a flexible park assist solution that leaves room for customizing and expanding your vehicle’s features. The BMW backup camera kit includes a Multimedia Interface (MMI) — Emtronika original module that makes it easy to add a front view camera or connect additional video devices like TV tuner via RCA input.
The retrofit kit includes all parts necessary to add the reverse camera to your BMW:
Trunk lid-mounted camera
Multimedia interface module (MMI)
The camera activates automatically when the car goes into reverse
Supports dynamic lines. These are guiding lines on the screen that moves with the steering wheel to indicate the projected path and help avoid obstruction & back up/park safely.
Produces a high-quality image
Easily integrates into the trunk handle just like an original BMW backup camera
Compatible with small and big monitors with 4 pin video cable
No coding is needed
Doesn’t void manufacturer's warranty
No permanent modifications are needed for installation, so the kit is lease-friendly
COMPATIBILITY WITH BMW MODELS
This kit is compatible with the following BMW models.
If you are unsure if the kit fits your car or you still have questions after reviewing the table below, please send us the VIN number of your car. Our specialists will send you the fitting parts and answer any further questions you may have.
The installation of the BVI150 reverse camera is absolutely plug & play. It doesn’t require any remote coding and takes up to 3–4h. Moreover, no permanent modifications are needed, so the kit is completely lease-friendly and does void the manufacturer’s warranty.
The installation involves fitting the new trunk handle with the camera instead of your original one and running the extension cable from the trunk to the front of the car (to connect it to the MMI). To make it look neat, you would want to hide the cable under the trim.
In order to install the MMI, you will need to remove the trim that covers the head unit and pull it out to connect the multimedia module. The MMI can be mounted above or under the head unit if there is enough space, or in the glove box compartment.
If you have not made similar modifications before, we advise that this part would be fitted by an experienced professional.
